چکیده

A systematic description of a spin one-half system endowed with magnetic moment or any other two-level system qubit interacting with the quantized electromagnetic field is developed. This description exploits a close analogy between a two-level system and the Dirac electron that comes to light when the two-level system is described within the formalism of second quantization in terms of fermionic creation and annihilation operators. The analogy enables one to introduce all the powerful tools of relativistic QED albeit in a greatly simplified form . The Feynman diagrams and the propagators turn out to be very useful. In particular, the QED concept of the vacuum polarization finds its close counterpart in the photon scattering off a two level system leading via the linear response theory to the general formulas for the atomic polarizability and the dynamic single spin susceptibility. To illustrate the usefulness of these methods, we calculate the polarizability and susceptibility up to the fourth order of perturbation theory. These ab initio calculations resolve some ambiguities concerning the sign prescription and the optical damping that arise in the phenomenological treatment. We also show that the methods used to study two-level systems qubits can be extended to many-level systems qudits . As an example, we describe the interaction with the quantized electromagnetic field of an atom with four relevant states: one S state and three degenerate P states.

Scalable quantum computing model in the circuit-QED lattice with circulator function

We propose a model for a scalable quantum computing in the circuit-quantum electrodynamics(QED) architecture. In the Kagome lattice of qubits three qubits are connected to each other through a superconducting three-junction flux qubit at the vertices of the lattice. By controlling one of the three Josephson junction energies of the intervening flux qubit we can achieve the circulator function t...

Quantized nanomechanical resonators

are well suited to such explorations. Their dimensions not only make them susceptible to local forces, but also make it possible to integrate and tightly couple them to a variety of interesting electronic structures, such as solid-state twolevel systems (quantum bits, or qubits), that exhibit quantum mechanical coherence. In fact, the most-studied systems, nanoresonators coupled to various supe...

حفظ و مقایسه درهم‌تنیدگی، ناسازگاری و همدوسی کوانتومی بین کیوبیت‌های متحرک در کاواک‌های نشت کننده

In this study, we consider a composed system consisting of two identical non-interacting subsystems. Each sub-system is made of a moving qubit into a leaky cavity. The study of the dynamic of the composed system revealed that compared with the stationary qubits, entanglement, quantum discord and coherence between two moving qubits remained close to their initial values as time went by. In parti...

Ultra-long distance interaction between spin qubits

We describe a method for implementing deterministic quantum gates between two spin qubits separated by centimeters. Qubits defined by the singlet and triplet states of two exchange coupled quantum dots have recently been shown to possess long coherence times. When the effective nuclear fields in the two asymmetric quantum dots are different, total spin will no longer be a good quantum number an...

Entangling superconducting qubits in a multi-cavity system

Important tasks in cavity quantum electrodynamics include the generation and control of quantum states of spatially separated particles distributed in different cavities. An interesting question in this context is how to prepare entanglement among particles located in different cavities, which are important for large-scale quantum information processing. We here consider amulti-cavity system whe...
